Shimokitazawa and Okonomiyakis

my friend constance and I met on sunday to visit an art exhibition featuring famous japanese director kurozawa in meguro with her friends. after that, we decided to explore shimokitazawa since she hasn't been there before, technically. the first part of the trip was good exploring the streets until we had to make the painful decision of where to eat for dinner. i was all out for okonomiyaki since there were some nice okonomiyaki shops around but she insisted on some budget gyoza shop there. guess who won eventually? ME! haha.

constance and I at our okonomiyaki shop in shimokitazawa...look at the lady owner next to constance. we were so insulted when she came up to us halfway and "taught" us how to cut our okonomiyaki up into edible portions...i think we knew how to do it, just not the "best way"..

our yummy looking negi-yaki...(this version does not come with the Hiroshima style which has yaki-soba inside the okonomiyaki).. the trick to eating this is to add more sauce cos they gave only minimum sauce when they prepared. and add more spice powders...but we learnt this only nearly finishing our okonomiyakis...grrr. and oh, look at constance's new glasses. she was a proud owner of a new pair of glasses when we visited a shop (ZOFF) which could make one in like 30 minutes. and it was budgety (read: cheap). but the range is great. i recommend that shop. constance claims she looks like "angela aki", this popular singer-songwriter....haha..anyway, all thanks to my great advice, we chose this pair of frames.
